History in pictures and text of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Warminster, PA. NAWC Warminster was formed from the Brewster Aircraft Factory towards the end of World War II. Then called the Naval Air Modification Unit (NAMU), it latter became the Naval Air Development Center (NAVAIRDEVCEN or NADC) and finally NAWC. The facility was closed on 30 September 1996. NADC is perhaps best known for it's Human centrifuge and the testing of our early astronauts.
