Journeum is an online travel guide that you can easily modify, print and take with you on a journey. It uses information publicly available on the Internet to deliver the best possible advice on travel destinations. Journeum aims at diversifying and tailoring information to fit particular traveller's needs. At the moment, most of the information is taken from Wikitravel and Geonames. This application also uses the foursquare® application programming interface but is not endorsed or certified by Foursquare Labs, Inc. The range of sources will be extended in the near future. Journeum was founded by Roman Kalyakin after he could not find a good flexible travel guide. He was looking for one that would help him step away from the tourist trail and could also be easily extended or shrunk. This project is a traveller on its own right. It was gradually developed in Kolkata, Dhaka, Chiang Mai, Mui Ne, Kuala Lumpur, Brisbane and briefly at several other destinations.
